All the worldly activities are being done for the sake of the entertainment of the consciousness of every living being. The quality of the fruit depends upon the quality of the seed. Hence, it is important to listen to good things.
What is seen is the reflection of the seer’s own consciousness. The pervader and the pervaded are not different; they are one and the same. That, through which space is created, is within us. The mind has neither birth nor death. Mind means the speech(thoughts). The mind becomes silent as soon as the word-flow ceases. The words come from the space, mind comes through the word and your behavior depends upon your mind. In fact, you are not the doer.
You wear the clothes, but you do not say “I am the clothes”. Similarly, learn to say “I am not the body”. Your form is space by nature.
(In this discourse Maharaj is telling us to go back to our source. When we get up in the morning, first to appear is seed consciousness, just a feeling of our beingness. In a few seconds, this seed consciousness expands and space comes into existence. In this space, everything is seen, including our own body. This has been happening everyday, since our childhood. Since then, we have identified ourselves with the body. This deep-rooted impression cannot be dismissed without the guidance of an Enlightened GURU. The guru asks us to go inwards by saying, “I am not the body, I am the consciousness within the body.)

Here you end with "I am the consciousness within the body".
In another of your posts, Nisargadatta is quoted thusly, "I am ‘THAT’ which is always there and which is prior to manifestation. I am not the Consciousness; on the contrary, the consciousness is a nuisance to me”.
Which is it: I am the consciousness or I am NOT the consciousness?
One must realize that these talks are given at different times and occasions!! It does seem to contradict. But if one deeply observes, one will realize that "I am the consciousness within the body" is made in the context of making one realize that the physical entity we call as "I" is not me, but the one who is aware of it. Whereas, In the other talk he feels the consciousness as a nuisance in relation to the fact that a fully realized person still has to endure the limitation of the physical body knowing fully well that he is beyond all..
Thank you Vijay, for your reply. And thanks for the great website.
Thanks for this great site. A small correction:
I think where you have "The prevader and the prevaded ..." it should read "The pervader and the pervaded ..."
Thanks for pointing out the mistake!!
